Homicide Detectives Make 3 Arrests in Recent Homicides

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has made three arrests in connection with two homicides that have occurred since the beginning of the year.

Vincent Eugene Miles, 29, of the 1500 block of Chillum Road, Chillum, Maryland, and Neil Elmore Lawrence, 31, of the 1800 block of Glendora Drive, District Heights, Maryland, were arrested in connection with the January 5th homicide that occurred at 1300 Southview Drive in Oxon Hill.  Miles and Lawrence have been charged with 1st Degree Murder and were remanded to the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.  Investigation reveals that this homicide was the result of a drug related dispute.

Donte Douglas, 18, of the 600 block of Elfin Avenue, Capital Heights, Maryland, was arrested in connection with the January 9th homicide that occurred in the 3100 block of Dynasty Drive in Forestville. He has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and was remanded to the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.  Investigation reveals that this incident was the result of a domestic dispute.

“I hope that these arrests bring some calm to our residents, who have been concerned about the number of homicides we have experienced in our county since January 1st,” stated Chief of Police Mark Magaw.  “These arrests were the result of good detective work by our most experienced investigators, and I am thankful for their long hours of hardwork and dedication. We continue to work diligently to bring quick closure to our remaining homicide cases”.
