Police Seek Information in Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit & run that occurred in Adelphi, Maryland.


On January 15, 2011 at approximately 9:37 p.m., patrol officers initially responded to a call for a robbery in the 1700 block of Metzerott Road. Upon their arrival, officers determined that no robbery had been committed, but a pedestrian involved hit and run. As the pedestrian lay unresponsive in the roadway, he was struck by a second vehicle. The first vehicle that struck the pedestrian left the scene; however, the second striking vehicle remained at the scene. The victim is described as a Hispanic male, 5’5, 120 lbs, 30 years old, wearing a gray jacket, white and blue jeans with red Nike, Jordan tennis shoes.

Police are seeking information on the driver of the first striking vehicle, who failed to remain on the scene, or any additional information about the hit & run.
