Police Make Quick Arrest in Homicide Investigation on Dallas Place

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Donald Dixon, 50, of the 4600 block of Dallas Place in Temple Hills, Maryland, in connection with the murder of Vicki Lee Griffin, 62, yesterday in Temple Hills, Maryland.

Donald Dixon and Vicki Lee Griffin were domestic partners and resided together in the apartment. Dixon has been charged with first degree murder and remanded to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections on a no bond status. He was located late yesterday afternoon in the Temple Hills area, transported to the Criminal Investigations Division, and charged accordingly.

On July 28, 2011 at approximately 10:25 a.m., Prince George’s County Fire/EMS personnel responded to a report of a gas odor inside an apartment building in the 4600 block of Dallas Place in Temple Hills, Maryland. While investigating the odor, Fire/EMS personnel located the victim, Vicki Lee Griffin, of this location, on the balcony of the apartment with trauma to her body. She was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine an exact cause of death. The motive has not been determined in this case.
