Homeowner Kills Burglar Inside of Fort Washington Home


The deceased suspect is identified as 20 year-old Jon Adgrain Pocknett of the 4000 block of Doncaster Drive in Indian Head.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a burglary suspect in Fort Washington.  The homeowner is a deputy sheriff in Alexandria, VA.

On February 12, 2013, around 10:50 pm, police officers responded to the 8400 block of Rose Marie Drive for a shooting. Once on scene, police officers made contact with the homeowner.  The homeowner had just arrived home and discovered his front door damaged. He went inside and was confronted by the suspect.  The homeowner shot the suspect.  The suspect was pronounced dead on scene after he collapsed outside.

PGPD homicide detectives are investigating this incident.  The preliminary investigation reveals the homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress.  Investigative developments lead detectives to believe one or more additional suspects were also on the scene.
