PGPD Obtains Arrest Warrant for Temple Hills Bank Robbery Suspect


Update: September 4, 2013:  The suspect has been arrested. On September 3, 2013, members of the PGPD and FBI arrested Edward Darrell Murphy in the District of Columbia.  Murphy has admitted his involvement in the Temple Hills robbery.  He is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating 51-year-old Edward Darrell Murphy of the 3700 block of Hayes Street in Northeast Washington.  Murphy is wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Temple Hills.


On August 29, 2013, at about 11:00 am, the suspect robbed the SunTrust Bank in the 4600 block of Old Branch Avenue.  The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect approached a bank teller, implied he had a weapon and demanded cash.  The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
