Teen Charged with Domestic-Related Murder in Landover

TyLee Lindale Dodson
The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a suspect for the murder of 20-year-old Avery Joshua Lewis of the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue in District Heights.  The suspect is identified as 17-year-old TyLee Lindale Dodson of the 8100 block of Allendale Drive in Landover.  Dodson is being charged as an adult.

On August 31, 2013, at about 12:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 8100 block of Allendale Drive for the report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival, patrol officers found Lewis outside suffering from apparent stab wounds.  He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.

The preliminary investigation reveals Lewis and Dodson got into an argument inside of Dodson's home which turned physical.  Lewis eventually left the home.  Dodson followed him outside and the fighting continued.  During that fight, Dodson stabbed Lewis.  Dodson and Lewis were in a romantic relationship.

Patrol officers arrested Dodson at the scene. He admitted his involvement.  Dodson faces charges of first and second degree murder.  He remains in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
