PGPD Hosts Police Delegation from Colombia

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Inspector General welcomed members of the National Police of Colombia (NPC).  Inspector General Carlos Acosta introduced the officers to the PGPD on November 22, 2013.

The tour included a stop at our training academy. Our guests got hands on experience with the PGPD’s Judgmental Enhancement Training System, MILO.  The system provides state-of-the-art use of force training for our police officers.  Sergeant William Gleason also gave a presentation on the use and safe handling of a Taser and other non-lethal options.

Following the training academy, our visitors went to the PGPD’s Crime Scene Investigation Division.  Supervisor William Greene and his staff presented several of the forensic tools used by the department, to include a 3D crime scene scanner.

This collaboration with the National Police of Colombia showcases the continued presence by PGPD on both the national and international law enforcement levels as we strive to learn and share best practices in our ultimate mission to serve and protect Prince George’s County.
