PGPD Investigates Fatal Car Crash in Fort Washington

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal car crash in Fort Washington. The victim is identified as 26-year-old Asa M. Hernandez of the 2700 block of Tred Avon Court in Waldorf.

On November 17, 2013, at about 5:30 am, patrol officers responded to the 12700 block of Livingston Road for the report of a crash involving a single vehicle. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Hernandez unresponsive. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation suggests Hernandez was traveling northbound on Livingston Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle, and struck a utility pole.

Preliminarily, speed appears to be factor in this ongoing investigation. Additionally, the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
