PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Upper Marlboro

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Upper Marlboro. The deceased is identified as 40-year-old Kevin Strickland of the 12700 block of Redgrave Drive in Upper Marlboro.

On November 1, 2013, at about 8:30 pm, patrol officers were called to Watkins Park Drive and Winona Drive for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Strickland suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals Strickland was attempting to cross Watkins Park Drive when he was struck by a Toyota Rav4.  The driver remained on scene and sustained no injuries.  It is not clear at this stage of the investigation if Strickland was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.  No charges have been filed in this ongoing investigation.
