PGPD Makes Quick Arrest in Seat Pleasant Homicide

The Prince George's County Police Department made a quick arrest in a homicide in Seat Pleasant.  The victim is identified as 55-year-old Donald Campbell of Adak Street in Seat Pleasant.  The suspect is identified as 43-year-old Archie Singleton of the 14000 block of Lord Marlboro Place in Upper Marlboro.

On March 15, 2014, at about 7:05 pm, patrol officers responded to an automotive business in the 6500 block of Central Avenue for a shooting.  When they arrived, they discovered Campbell suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The patrol officers spoke with Singleton, who is an employee of the business.  During that interview, the officers discovered Singleton was carrying a handgun.  He was taken for additional questioning, during which he admitted his involvement in the shooting.  Singleton and Campbell are acquaintances.  The motive in this case is under investigation.

Singleton is charged with second degree murder and remains in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
