Detectives Arrest Suspect in Laurel Homicide

The Homicide Unit has arrested a suspect in connection with a recent homicide in Laurel. The suspect is 41-year-old Alvin Vaughn of no fixed address. He’s charged with the fatal shooting of 46-year-old Gregory Myles of Malachite Place in Capitol Heights.

On November 20th, at about 9:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the 13200 block of Deerfield Road for a shooting. The officers found Myles inside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect was involved in an argument with the victim that led to the shooting. The suspect and the victim were acquaintances.


Vaughn is charged with first degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
