PGPD Charges Suspect in Connection With Bladensburg Police Department Officer-Involved Shooting

At the request of the Bladensburg Police Department, PGPD detectives and the PGPD Crime Scene Investigations Division were called in to handle the initial criminal investigation in connection with a Bladensburg Police Department Officer-Involved shooting.
On November 12th, at about 9:05 pm, officers with the Bladensburg Police Department responded to the 5200 block of Newton Street for the report of an armed man. After a foot pursuit and a Bladensburg officer-involved shooting, the circumstances of which are under investigation by their department, Bladensburg officers recovered the suspect's weapon and what is preliminarily believed to be the drug “PCP” at the scene.

Our detectives have charged the suspect, 29-year-old Davon Hight of the 1900 block of Mississippi Avenue in Southeast, DC with the following:

1) Possession With Intent to Distribute a CDS (PCP)
2) Handgun on Person
3) CDS possession not marijuana

The Bladensburg Police Department launched a routine, internal investigation into their officer-involved shooting. All questions about the status of the officer and the investigation into the officer-involved shooting should be directed to the Bladensburg Police Department.
